Cookies
Last updated: 16 October 2026
Cookies and similar technologies (like localStorage) are small files stored on your device that help websites remember things between visits. This page explains what we use and why.
What we use
Essential (always on)
These are required for the site to work. They can’t be switched off. Under UK data protection law, essential cookies don’t require your consent.
- Supabase authentication session (
sb-…-auth-token) — keeps you signed in to your account. Expires when you sign out or after 7 days of inactivity. - Cart & editor progress (
mebo_cart,mebo_editor_…) — stored in your browser’s localStorage, keeps the book you’re customising and your cart if you return later.
Analytics (only with your consent)
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site — which pages are helpful, where people get stuck, and how to improve the experience. Clarity records anonymous session replays and heatmaps. We mask all personal content, including any photographs you upload and any names you enter.
Clarity sets the following first-party cookies. These are only set if you click Accept all on our cookie banner.
_clck— persists the Clarity user ID and preferences. Expires after 1 year._clsk— connects multiple page views into a single session recording. Expires after 1 day.
Microsoft is the data processor. See Microsoft’s privacy statement for details.
What we don’t use
We don’t use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, social media pixels, or any third-party tools that build a profile of you across other websites.
Managing your choice
You can change your analytics preference at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, like the book customiser, from working correctly.
